1. You will be notified by Maths Doctor as to the verified status of a tutors identity, qualifications and background checks. In all cases, even with a fully verified tutor, we recommend that you interview your prospective tutor over the phone to decide if you wish to employ them before you give out any personal information, such as your address.
  2. Make sure you check the tutor’s photo provided by Maths Doctor so you can identify the tutor as the correct person.
  3. For adult learners: Have lessons in a room with plenty of space such as a dining room or lounge, and preferably have someone in the house with you at least initially.
  4. For Minors: Always ensure a parent or guardian is in the house when lessons are taking place, without exception. The ideal circumstance is to have the lesson in a public room such as a dining room or lounge, with adjoining doors open. It is important that the parent or guardian has access to the teaching area and can observe and hear activity at any time they wish. Any chaperone arrangement offered by the tutor (for example his or her partner) should be refused.
  5. In the unlikely event that you do have a bad experience of any kind with a tutor you have met through Maths Doctor, please report them to us immediately. If this is anything of a serious nature, you must of course notify the police first and then report back to us.
